Electricians installing cable trays on a data centre construction site in Finland — electrical installation jobs

Workforce & subcontracting for data-centre construction in Finland

Verified trades for data-centre builds — employed by us, documented for the inspector.

Two ways to work with us

Workforce — we are the employer

Verified installers on your site, employed by Gene-Works Oy under Finnish law and the applicable collective agreement. Direction and supervision of the work are yours; pay, insurance, working-time records and right-to-work checks are ours. Price per paid hour with an open structure.

Subcontracting — we take the work package

A defined package of work under our own responsibility: cable pulling, cable trays and supports, roofing, sandwich panels, façades, steel and support structures, mechanical installation, construction cleaning, site logistics, material handling, winter maintenance and other supporting works. Who runs the work on site is set by the contract for the package — our own foreman or your supervisor.

Where our crews and housing are

We hold housing capacity for up to 400 people near Kajaani and Kuhmo and run our own transport to site by shift. That is what makes a large crew possible on the northern sites at all: near them the rental market is thin, and a crew that has nowhere to sleep does not arrive.

Elsewhere accommodation is arranged per assignment. For trades we have in the pool with the right to work in the EU, installers are typically on site 1–3 weeks after arrival: the tax number (1–3 working days after the Vero visit) and card delivery set the pace. The exact start date for your site is fixed in the written offer.

The client view — see it with sample data

Sign in with a one-time link to the work e-mail from your enquiry, no password. For every worker on your site you see the state of each requirement, the date it was checked and how long it is valid. One button gives you a statement for the labour inspectorate with the gaps named.

Open price structure — six elements you see for every paid hour

  1. Collective-agreement rate

The pay group and hourly rate under the applicable agreement, by name and date of validity.

  2. Supplements

Evening, night, qualification and foreman supplements as the agreement defines them.

  3. Employer contributions

Statutory employer contributions and insurance on top of gross pay.

  4. Holiday pay and separate pay components

Holiday pay and the agreement's separate components, shown where they apply.

  5. Housing, transport, relocation, training

Priced as separate lines at cost, as stated in the agreement — never offset against the worker's pay.

  6. Our fee

One line, agreed in the framework agreement. No other charges.

Why we price this way

An open structure removes the incentive to underpay: you see that the worker is paid under the agreement, and the worker sees where the client's hour goes. Public procurement in Finland already uses this model for staff leasing (Hansel framework agreements). The Court of Justice of the EU has confirmed that housing and meals may not be counted towards a worker's minimum pay, and they never are with us.

The fee depends on trade, volume, rotation and what you want included. You get the full structure with numbers in a written offer.

Gene-Works Oy at a glance

What you get

A foreman for the team

A working foreman who speaks English and the crew's language. Electrical installation comes as leased personnel under your electrical work supervisor.

Housing and transport as a package

Camps and apartments near the site, minibuses per shift — so mobilisation does not depend on the local rental market.

Worker onboarding as a service

Tax number, Valtti card, bank account, registration, tax card, safety cards; welder tests before travel; the path to recognition of qualifications. Paid by the client, never by the worker.

Recruitment for a one-off fee

Search and verification of a specialist you employ directly — as an addition to leasing.

Transparent client view — included

Per assigned worker: the requirements, the state of each one, validity dates and what is still open, plus a statement for the inspector at the press of a button. Included in leasing, no separate fee.

Your own people on the same system

Your directly employed workers can be tracked in the same view — available on request.

How an assignment starts

  1. Your request

    Trades, headcount, site, start date.

  2. Requirements and agreement

We confirm the applicable collective agreement, qualification and card requirements for the tasks, and shift pattern.

  3. Written offer

Open price structure per paid hour, mobilisation time, housing and transport plan.

  4. Mobilisation

Right-to-work and document checks, cards, tax numbers, Valtti, housing, transport — with a status per person before day one.

  5. On site

One coordinator, weekly documentation, exceptions with deadlines, inspector's file on request.

Fields marked * are required.

What do you need?

Choose one; you can change your mind in the written offer.

Trades tell us which collective agreements apply and which of our people can be considered. A rough list is enough.

Optional. An approximate number, or nothing at all, is enough to start the conversation — we do not need a committed headcount from you.

We reply within one working day.

Request supplier documents

Tell us where to send the reply. We check the current contractor's-liability (tilaajavastuu) package and send it within one working day, dated and not older than 3 months.

Where to send the package. We use this address for the document request and nothing else.

Questions clients ask us

Do your electricians need a Finnish S1/S2 qualification?

No — the responsible electrical supervisor (sähkötöiden johtaja) is required of the electrical contractor, not of each installer. Our installers work under your supervisor and licence.

Which collective agreement do you apply?

We follow the order set by the Employment Contracts Act: first the collective agreement that binds Gene-Works as the employer; where none applies, the agreement that binds the user company; and failing both, the terms the user company applies in practice. For electrical installation that is the electrical contracting agreement, for HVAC and piping the building-services agreement, for shell trades the construction agreement. We name the agreement in the offer and show its pay table.

Are your workers posted workers?

Our workers are employed by a Finnish company under Finnish law and Finnish collective agreements. The posted-workers regime applies to foreign employers sending workers to Finland, which is not our model.

How fast can people be on site?

For trades we have in the pool with the right to work in the EU: from the confirmed order, the binding items are the tax number (1–3 working days after the Vero visit with complete details; the appointment and the site's own induction come on top) and card delivery; installers are typically on site 1–3 weeks after arrival. Non-EU hires need a residence permit for an employed person and are started only against a confirmed order.

Can you send the tilaajavastuu documents before we talk?

Yes — use the request button; the package arrives with date and version, not older than 3 months, and we follow up personally.
