What an electrician is paid on a Finnish site
Group rates from 1 August 2026, the shift supplements, and the deductions that turn gross into take-home.
Short, checkable answers to what people actually ask us before they come to work in Finland. Every figure here comes from the collective agreement or from the Tax Administration, with the page and the date we checked it. Nothing is a promise about your own pay: the calculator on each trade page builds your own scenario instead.
Group rates from 1 August 2026, the shift supplements, and the deductions that turn gross into take-home.
Why the group comes from the work you do and not from years served — and what can move it up or down.
Tax number, Valtti card, safety card — what is required by law, what by the site, what each costs.
Which agreement applies, what section 11.8 means for a temporary stay, and why welding qualification is not a pay group.
When an allowance is payable, the 2026 tax-free maximums, and what the three-year rule on one site means.
Every rate, fee and maximum in these articles is read from the same data files the calculator uses: the collective-agreement tables under data/tes, the Tax Administration decision for the year, the employee contribution rates, and the card catalogue with each issuer's own published price. When a table changes, the article changes with it — an article cannot quietly disagree with the calculator, because both read one file.
Where a figure has no source we can point at, we write that instead of filling the gap. Where a rule has a condition, the condition is in the text and not only the number. All five articles were published on 26 September 2026 and carry the date each fact was checked; the sources table at the foot of each one names the agreement section, the decision or the issuer.
Reading is optional — the calculator is the short way. Pick your trade and see your own scenario.
